Joe Vegas began tattooing in 1984 with Bob Roberts at Spotlight Tattoo in Los Angeles -- and learning about Tattooing all of his life as he has worked to hone his own style in the US, Japan and Europe.

Vegas designs one of a kind tattoos that flow with the wearer's body to produce a clean, bright, and stunning look.  He credits his compelling sense of design to his worldwide travels and extended stays Tattooing in Japan where he was able to observe and absorb the skills of Japanese master Tattoo artists.  Joe's affinity for all things Japanese extends beyond his interest in this ancient art to his wife Kai as well who hails from Japan.  Always working to refine his drafting skills, Joe studied at the Art-Center College of Design in  Pasadena, California.  Vegas' Tattoo work is influenced primarily by Bob Roberts, Ed Hardy, Zeke Owens, and Horiyoshi 3.   "Not only have their creative talents influenced my work, but I'm very fortunate to be friends with these masters of Tattooing as well."

Gifted with a terrific sense of humor and easy going nature, Vegas makes even the most nervous of clients feel relaxed and completely at ease under his steady hand.

Joe's client list includes members of the Stray-Cats, the Black Crows, the Cramps, Train, Jodeci, Motley-Crue (including Tommy Lee), Sugarland, Hatebreed, and centerfold models from Playboy-U.K., Playboy-Greece, and American Playboy.  A quick look at Vegas' cell phone revealed that he has most of these people on speed dial.

Fortunately for those of us in the South, Joe relocated to Atlanta in 2007 from the San Francisco Bay area where he had most recently worked at Freddy Corbin's legendary Temple Tattoo for 4 years.  Prior to that, Joe could be found at Spotlight Tattoo in Los Angeles in between his trips back and forth to Tattoo in Japan, Miami and Amsterdam.

Joe continues to travel regularly to Japan to work and add to his already comprehensive knowledge of Japanese design and Tattooing.  "When you stop learning, you might as well stop Tattooing!" he says --  Joe's affinity for expanding his knowledge of art and design talent have made him the go-to choice of Professors of Art and Design throughout the Southeast -- including from Savannah College of Art and Design, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Art-Institute, and several other universities for their own tattoo work!
